Fair Zwolle

Gisteren ben ik naar de handwerkbeurs in Zwolle geweest. Ik heb een aantal vriendinnen van de borduursite terug gezien en anderen voor het eerst gezien. En dit heb ik meegebracht...

Yesterday I went to the fair in Zwolle. I saw a few friends from the "Borduursite" again and some I saw for the first time. And this is what I brought with me...

Gratis gekregen bij aankoop bij Peddles en Cross Stitch Corner. Pakketje vind ik niet zo leuk, maar garen en stof zijn goed voor kaartjes. Het Borduurblad heb ik al, dus als er iemand hem graag wilt?

Dimensions Gold Collection borduurpakket met alles er in. Was net geen 40 euro en komt van Cross Stitch Corner. Dat is een Duitse standhouder, met een grote online winkel. Dit is m'n allereerste Dimensions.

Verschillende soorten linnens en evenweaves. Er zit zelfs 36 count bij. (En heb nog nooit echt kleiner geweest dan 28 count, en dan nog, 2 over 2, amai amai)

My first scissorsfob

Vandaag heb ik een scharenhangertje in elkaar geprutst. Het is m'n allereerste scharenhangertje ooit, en hopelijk het begin van een hele hoop. Het ontwerpje is gemaakt door Nina, het gratis patroontje is door haar gemaakt. Na lang prutsen heb ik het afgewerkt met een vlecht, ik vond niet hoe ik een cord moest maken en een slinger van houten hartjes.

Ik heb het patroontje twee keer gemaakt, voor de voor en achterkant, op linnen met linnen garen van DMC. Zo lijkt het zachter dan met het gewone mouline garen. Ik heb ook de kleuren wat veranderd, Nina had het in roze gemaakt, maar ik vind blauw net iets mooier.

Ik heb geen mooie schaartjes, dus hangt het maar aan m'n gewone schaar. Misschien ooit koop ik een paar mooie schaartjes.

Today I made a scissorsfob. It's my first one ever made, and hopefully the start of a lot. The design is made by Nina and is a freebie found on her blog. I didn't know how to make a cord, so instead I interlaced the threads to make a cord. At the end I added a string with wooden hearts.

I made the pattern twice, for both sides of the fob. I stitched it on linnen, with linnen threads from DMC. That way it looks a bit softer then the normal mouline threads. I also changed the colors a bit, Nina made it in pink, but I like blue a bit more.

I don't have any fancy scissors, so it's just on my normal scissors. Maybe sometime I buy some nice scissors.

Seasons

Vandaag heb ik de Seasons meegebracht, ik hou echt van dat magazine. Je waant je meteen ergens anders en ik vind de receptjes en de interviews zo leuk. Nu is alles over de lente, maar ik moet toegeven, de herfst heb ik toch veel liever. De nazomer/herfst is m'n favoriete seizoen: besjes, pompoenen, NOTEN!!!! en halloween. Joepie!!!

En natuurlijk heb ik ook een beetje aan m'n mysterie werkje geborduurd. Tot nu toe heeft het nog maar 1 iemand geraden.


Today I bought Seasons, a dutch magazine about country living, I really love it. You think you are in another place when reading it and I like the recipes and interviews so much. This month it was all about spring, but I have to admit, I like autumn more. The end of the summer/autumn is my favourite seasons: berries, pumpkins, NUTS!!!! and halloween. Yippie!!!

And offcourse I stitched a bit on my mystery work. So far only one person guessed which one I'm making.

Vandaag ben ik met een nieuw werkje gestart. Het lijkt me beter om wat meer variatie te hebben. Kan je raken welke dit is?

Today I started with a new project. It seems better to have a bit more variation while stitching. Can you guess which pattern this?

Handwerken zonder grenzen

Vandaag heb ik een magazine gekocht over allemaal soorten handwerken, Handwerken zonder Grenzen. Alles wordt er in besproken: borduren, breien, kant,... En toch vind ik het maar niks. Ik denk dat het eerder wat voor mama is.

Today I bought a magazine about all sorts of handworks, Handwerken zonder Grenzen (in English: Handworks without Borders.) It deals about a lot off different crafts: embroidery, cross stitch, knitting, lace, crochet,... And still, I don't like it. I think it's more something for my mom.

De bloesem boom is af en afgewerkt in een naaldenboekje. Het idee kwam van bij Nina. Samen met mama heb ik hem afgewerkt, en we zijn er niet zo tevreden mee. Het is de eerste keer dat we zo iets gemaakt hebben, en dat je zie er volgens mij wel aan. We hebben lijm genomen die ze in de winkel aangeraden hadden. Een soort van lijmkit, die volgens de gebruiksaanwijziging zelfs metaal aan elkaar kleeft. Hij heeft verschrikkelijke vlekken achtergelaten die je er niet meer uitkrijgt, en overal zie je lijm. Ook de afwerking zelf is nog niet zo gelukt, maar volgende keer beter.


The blossom tree is finished and made into a needlebook. I found the idea on Nina's blog. Together with my mom I finished it, and we aren't to happy with it. It's the first time we finished something like that and I think you see it. It's not very good. We took glue they advised us in the store, some sort of gluekit that even glues metal according to the paper. It made some horrible stains on the fabric, and everywhere you see glue. Also, the finishing itselve isn't ok, maybe better next time.
