Goodbye Queen of Hearts... Welcome to...

Vorig jaar had ik besloten om de Queen of Hearts te maken van Haed, en was op zoek naar de juiste stof. Normaal is een Haed op 25 count evenweave, maar omdat ik nog een beginner was hebben ze me een andere soort en count stof gegeven. Ik weet tot nu toe nog altijd niet goed wat voor stof het is. Ik probeerde met 2 draadjes, maar moest toen er nog twee keer doorgegaan moest worden, al heel hard trekken. Het gevolg was een hoop dikke, ongelijke steken. Dan probeerde ik het maar met 1 draadje, en daar zag je overal wit tussen. Het gaf gewoon geen mooi zicht. Toch borduurde ik verder en had bijna 6 pagina's afgewerkt.

Maar dit weekend was ik het beu. Ik besloot om nieuwe stof te kopen en te herbeginnen. Maar toen ik kreeg ik een ander idee. De Queen vond ik wel heel mooi, maar zo rood. Op 6 pagina's waren er maar 7 verschillende kleuren te voorschijn gekomen. Een paar maanden geleden had ik de Fall Fairy gekocht, maar ondertussen zijn er al een aantal mensen die aan de Fall Fairy begonnen waren (Elisa, Amarins, Ingrid en nog een paar op de Haed blog) dat ik het niet zag zitten om ook aan dezelfde te beginnen. Straks lijken al onze blogs op elkaar. Dus ben ik verder gaan zoeken, ik heb zoveel Haeds die ik mooi vind. En dus kwam ik op een andere uit...

Last year I decided to stitch Heaven and Earth Designs "Queen of Hearts". Because I only recently started stitching, I searched for the right fabric. 25 count evenweave seemed to hard so the saleswoman gave me another kind of fabric. I still don't really know what fabric it is, but I hate it. I tried with 2 strands of cotton but when I still had to pull through 2 times, it was a disaster. I had to pull so hard, that I damaged the fabric and had a thick, uneven stitch. Then I tried with only one thread, but the white of the fabric always came through. I didn't liked it, but still stitched almost 6 pages.

But this weekend I was tired off it. I decided to restart her on new fabric. But then I got another idea. I always loved the Queen, but it's so boring to stitch. In the first 6 pages, I only had 7 colors, and it went through for another 5 pages. A few months ago I bought the Fall Fairy, but in the mean time some other people had started it too and posted it on their blogs. (Including Amarins, Elisa, Ingrid and some on the Haed blog) So it seemed pretty weird for me to start it too, in a bit all blogs would be the same, and it wouldn't be a nice challenge to stitch the same. So I searched further, and I have a lot of Haeds I like, so it found another nice one I like...

Organisation, voting and progress...

We zijn alweer juni en ik heb eventjes niet geupdate. Vandaag moest ik gaan stemmen, maar had veel liever zin om te borduren.

Ik heb eventjes rond gekeken en naar jullie opbergsystemen gekeken. Zo'n mooie craftroom als die van Cindy zal ik wel niet kunnen maken. Ik ben zo jaloers op haar mooie craftroom en ooit maak ik er ook zo eentje ;-). Nee, mijn opbergsysteem is nog maar heel klein en bestaat uit 1 doosje. En dit weekend heb ik me er eens aangezet om het garen van m'n Queen of Hearts er in op te bergen. Je ziet het, ik heb nog niet zoveel garen, maar dat komt wel met meer werkjes.

We are June allready and there haven't been any updates lately. Today I had to go vote, but I rather wanted to do some stitching.

I also checked around and watched your organisation systems. A craftroom like Cindy's I won't be able to make. I'm so jealous of her craftroom. But one day, I'll make myself one too. No, my organisationsystem is still very little and only exists of one box with some thread. And this weekend I worked a bit on it and placed all the thread on bobbins in the box. You see it, I don't have a lot of thread yet, but it will come once I make more stuff.

De ring op de foto bevat de vier kleurtjes die op dit moment in m'n werkje zitten. Handig om overal mee te sleuren.

Ik was ook vergeten om m'n TUSAL te plaatsen. Het garen gaat traag, maar de papiertjes gaan best snel hoor!!!

Last week I forgot to place an update of my TUSAL. The threads go very slow, but the skeins are going quick!!! Mostly because of my new organisation method ;-)

W.I.P. Queen of Hearts #4

Pagina 2 is bijna af, de lap hangt vol Ice-Tea door een ongelukje en we hebben nog steeds maar 4 kleuren.

Page 2 is almost finished, because of an accident, my fabric is covered in Ice-Tea, and still only 4 colors.

Page 1 finished

Mijn HAED gaat vooruit, op ongeveer 100 steken na is pagina 1 klaar, zometeen ga ik ze rustig afmaken. Aan pagina 2 begin ik zo dadelijk, ik ga me lekker in de zetel nestelen met m'n borduurwerkje. (Op de foto houdt manlief m'n werkje vast)

My HAED is progressing, only 100 stitches left to do and my first page is ready, in a few minutes I'm going to finish those. I'll start page 2 in a moment, first I'm going to place myself in my sofa with all my embroidery stuff. (On the picture my hubby is holding the embroiderywork)

W.I.P. Queen of Hearts #2

Deze week heb ik mijn borduurtijd verspreid over de lavendel en m'n HAED. Aan de HAED heb ik opgemerkt dat ze niet het aantal strengen vermelden die je nodig hebt om je werk af te maken. Ik had van elke kleur 2 strengen besteld, maar nu merk ik aan het kleine stukje dat ik al gedaan heb dat er al een halve zwarte streng op is en ik nog heel wat zwart moet verwerken. Bijbestellen dus maar...

This week I divided my embroiderytime between the lavender and the HAED. On the HAED I noticed they don't say how many strings you need from a certain color to finish your work. I ordered 2 strings of each color, but now I notice on the small piece I've done allready that I have almost used up the black I had. And I still need quite a few pages of black. Lets order some more, I guess...

W.I.P. Queen of Hearts #1

De eerste update van m'n Queen of Hearts HAED. Ik ben er zaterdag mee begonnen en heb 1300 steken af. Niet zo heel veel al, maar het begint te komen. Op dit moment zijn er drie kleuren in verwerkt, zwart (dmc 310) ~ grape (dmc 154) en zwart-bruin (dmc 337). Je ziet dus nog niet veel verschijnen omdat het donkere kleuren zijn. Ik begin bovenaan links en werk blokje per blokje af.

This is the first update of my Queen of Hearts HAED. I started with it on Saturday and at the moment 1300 stitches are done. Not that much, but it's a start. On this moment there are three colors in the work: black (dmc 310) ~ grape (dmc 154) and black-brown (dmc 337). You don't see a lot yet, because of the dark colors. I started at the top left and make each 10x10 stitch block apart.

Queen of Hearts

Dit is m'n 3de werk en het is meteen al een grote. Deze Queen of Hearts komt van HEAD (Heaven and Earth Designs) en heeft 86 pagina's patroon. Ik borduur hem met 1 draadje over 2 draadjes. Ik ben er vandaag aan begonnen, dus ga ik hier nog geen update van zetten. 600 steken op dit moment

This is my 3th work, and it's allready a big one. This Queen of Hearts is a HEAD-design and has 86 patternpages. I'm doing the stitches with one thread over two threads. I only started on it today, so no update yet. 600 stitches so far.
