One thirth...

Met pagina 6 op de stof is 1/3 van Crab Apple klaar. Ik hoop in 2020 haar af te hebben maar er moeten nog heel wat steekjes gezet worden. Ook Times Up is 1/3 klaar met pagina 12 van 36, echter Crab Apple is mijn oudste wip op dit moment en het eerbetoon voor Touche mag wel eens af raken. Daarom kies ik er ook voor om eerst Crab Apple af te werken.

With page 6 on the fabric there is 1/3 of Crab Apple finished. I hope to have her finished in 2020 but there are still a lot of stitches to be done. Times Up is also 1/3 done with page 12 of 36, but Crab Apple is my oldest wip at the moment and the piece to honour Touche might be finished by now. That is why I choose to finish Crab Apple first.

Ik kon het echter niet laten om nieuw garen te bestellen. Ik heb garen besteld voor Hubble Bubble max colour en Fall Fairy.

I couldn't resist to buy new thread, though. I ordered threads for Hubble Bubble max colour and the Fall Fairy.

Ghost busters...

Pagina 11 en 12 zijn inmiddels ook klaar. De geest is heel goed te zien nu alhoewel ik vaak mijn twijfels had met de kleuren. Ik heb heel wat vorderingen gemaakt met een opdracht in een borduurgroep. Ik heb 20 keer moeten rollen om een 1 te rollen en elk ander nummer moest ik een aantal steken doen, hierdoor heb ik meer dan een pagina afgekregen in twee weken.

Voorlopig gaat Times Up even in de kast en is het tijd voor Crab Apple.

Page 11 and 12 are ready aswell. The ghost can be seen very well even though I had my doubts with the colours often. I made a lot of progress because of a stitching group. I had to roll 20 times before I rolled a 1 and each other number I had to stitch a certain amount of stitches, because of this I managed to stitch more than a page in 2 weeks.

For now Times Up will be bagged and I will take out Crab Apple.

20 days...

Mijn vorige pagina was klaar op 10 oktober en we zijn nu exact 20 dagen verder en pagina 10 is klaar. Beetje bij beetje begint het te vorderen. Nog 1 en een halve pagina en de tweede rij pagina's is ook klaar. Maar opnieuw ben ik aan het twijfelen: doe ik verder met Times Up of neem ik eens een andere wip?

My previous page was finished on October 10 and we are exactly 20 days later and page 10 is finished. Bit by bit it starts to progress. One and a halve page left and the second row of pages is done. But again I'm debating: do I continue Times Up or do I take another wip?

Page 9...

Pagina 9 is ook terug uit de naald gekropen en ondertussen werk ik aan pagina 10. Het is zo leuk om de kat te zien verschijnen. Vaak vraag ik me af of de kleuren die ik er in stop wel juist zijn maar als je dan een foto neemt en ziet hoe het wordt dan voel je je fantastisch. De ogen zijn wel een stuk minder gedetailleerd dan Witching maar hij kijkt je recht aan.

Page 9 just came off the needle and I'm working on page 10. It's so nice to see the cat appear. Often I wonder if the colours I'm putting in are on the right place or even the right colours but if you take a picture and see the results you feel fantastic. The eyes are less detailed than it was with Witching but it looks like he is watching me.

Ik heb ook een dieptepunt of beter een hoogtepunt bereikt qua gewicht. Net geen 130 kg en dat kan niet meer zijn. Sinds een paar weken ga ik terug naar Weight Watchers, combinatie app en cursus. Elke donderdag ga ik naar de cursus als mijn roulement het toelaat en tot nu toe ben ik 5,1 kg kwijt. Deze avond moet ik nog gaan en ik hoop dat er terug wat af is.

I also reached a low point or should I better say a high point with my weight. Almost 130 kg's and that is not right anymore. Since a few weeks I'm going back to Weight Watchers, a combination of the app and the workshops. Every thursday I go the workshop, if my work schedule allows it and so far I lost 5,1 kg's. I still have to go this evening and I hope I lost some more.

September...

De tijd gaat snel, we zijn al september. Wennen op het werk is gebeurd en er was na het werk ook wat tijd om te borduren. Sinds de vorige keer heb ik 2 pagina's klaar, waarvan eentje net vers van de naald.

De herfst komt weer in het land en dus ook weer knus onder een dekentje kruipen. Ik dacht eerst om na deze pagina een ander werkje even te nemen maar nu ik zie wat er aan komt blijf ik nog wel even aan Times Up werken.

Time goes fast. I got adjusted to work and after work there was some time to stitch. Since the last blog update I finished 2 pages and one is just fresh from the needle.

Autmn is coming to town again so there is nothing against cuddling under a blanket. First I tought to work on another WIP but now I see what comes on the next page I don't want to switch.

June...

En er is weer een maand voorbij waarbij heel wat dingen veranderd zijn. Ik werk terug en heb besloten om voorlopig even niet meer verder te gaan met mijn opleiding verpleegkunde. Maar ik heb ook wel wat geborduurd. Pagina 6 is net klaar en hiermee heb ik ook de volledige breedte van het werk klaar.

And another month has passed where things have changed. I'm back to work and I'm not returning to school any time soon. But I also stitched. Page 6 is fresh from the needle and with this I have the full width of my piece.

A lot of things...

Het is een tijdje geleden maar net na het vorige berichtje werd ik ziek. Het begon met een keelontsteking maar die is gevorderd naar een longontsteking en ik moest naar de spoeddienst. Ik kon amper ademen, hoestte me kapot en had constant het gevoel dat ik moest stikken. De computer staat op het tweede verdiep en aangezien ik al moeite had om de 5 meter zonder trappen van bed naar de het toilet te stappen ging het ook niet om hier even te bloggen. Ik zat vooral in de zetel en sommige dagen kon ik borduren en andere niet. Ik ben al een stuk beter maar jammer genoeg nog niet 100 procent genezen.

It's been a while but after the last post here I got sick. It started with a throat infection but went further to a pneumonia and I had to go to the ER. I could hardly breathe, was coughing up my lungs and had the feeling I was suffocating. The computer is one the second floor of our house and since I allready had trouble to walk the 5 meter without stairs from the bed to the bathroom I couldn't go upstairs to blog either. I was mostly sitting in the sofa and some days I could stitch and others not. I'm better now but sadly I'm not 100 procent healed yet.

En dan de updates van mijn borduurwerken. Crab Apple heeft een page finish en daarmee is de 3 de pagina ook klaar. Rechts beneden kan je al de start van haar oortje zien.

And then an update on my cross stitch pieces. Crab Apple has a page finish and page 3 is done now. In the bottom right corner you can see the start of her ear.

Dan mei... in mei doen heel wat borduursters een hoop nieuwe starts voor Stitch Maynia maar ik heb geen zin noch de stash om zoveel nieuwe starts te doen dus ik heb er mijn eigen draai aan gegeven. Ik doe Monogamous May wat wil zeggen dat ik een hele maand aan hetzelfde borduurwerk ga werken. En ik heb gekozen voor Times Up. Ondertussen ben ik bezig aan pagina 4 dus ik toon een aantal foto's hier.

Then May... In May a lot of stitchers are doing a whole heap of new starts for Stitch Maynia but I don't want to do so many starts and I don't even have the stash so I'm doing my own kind of Maynia. I'm doing Monogamous May, which means that I will work on the same piece for a whole month. I've chosen for Times Up and as of now I'm working on page 4 so I'll show you some wip pics.

IHSW March...

Dit weekend was het International Hermit and Stitch Weekend. Dit is telkens het 3de weekend van de maand en is enkele jaren geleden begonnen op een blog. Sinds kort is het terug leven ingeblazen via facebook en een hoop andere blogs. De bedoeling is dat je je een weekend "terug trekt" (niet letterlijk) en borduurt. Dus ik heb dit weekend lekker geborduurd. De eerste foto is mijn start van zaterdag, de tweede foto is mijn tussenstop in Aden en de laatste foto is waar ik dit weekend geëindigd ben. 

This weekend was the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend. This is every 3th weekend of the month and started a few years ago on a blog. Not so long a long they resurrected it on facebook and a heap of other blogs. The meaning of this weekend is that you hermit away (not literally) and stitch. So I stitched a lot this weekend. The first photo is my start on Saturday, the second one is my visit to Aden and the last photo is where I just ended.

The first page...

Ik hoop dat dit niet te saai wordt met al die updates van Times Up maar de eerste pagina is klaar. Nog steeds heel donker maar je begint wel een patroon te zien.

I hope this doesn't get too boring with all these updates of Times Up but the first page is finished. Still very dark, but you start to see a pattern.

3775 km...

Na 3775 km ben ik aangekomen in Suez. Al het zwart op deze pagina is klaar maar ik moest nog een aantal steken zetten om er nog te raken. De volgende stop is in Aden en voor ik daar aankom zal de eerste pagina volledig af zijn. Ik ben heel erg benieuwd hoe de eerste pagina er uit zal zien.

After 3775 km I arrived in Suez. All the black on this page is done but I had to put a few stitches in the other colours to arrive in Suez. The next stop is Aden and before I arrive there the first page will be completly finished. I'm very curious how that will look like.

Brisindi...

Ik heb de volgende 1115 km gereisd en ik ben aangekomen in Brisindi. Ik ben nog steeds niet overtuigd van al het bruine en het zwarte en dat groene dat ik nu moet borduren. Hopelijk verbeterd het nog.

I traveled the next 1115 km and I arrived in Brisindi. I'm still not convinced about all the browns, black and the green I need to stitch now. Hopefully that will be better when I progress further.

Het tweede deel van mijn reis is ook klaar. Dit keer ben ik van Parijs naar Turin gereisd. 775 steken voor 775 km.

From London to Paris...

Op een blog zag ik deze challenge voor een Haed die in een facebookgroep georganiseerd wordt. De bedoeling is dat je een groot aantal steken zet en je reist eigenlijk met je steken de wereld rond gebaseerd op het boek van Jules Verne. Gelukkig krijgen wij meer dan 80 dagen maar een volledig jaar. Elke steek stelt een km voor.

Het eerste stukje van 470 steken is klaar en hiermee ben ik dus van London naar Parijs gereisd.

On a blog I saw this challenge for Haeds that got organised in a facebookgroup. The challenge is that you do a lot of stitches and that you travel around the world based on the book of Jules Verne. Luckely we get more than 80 days to finish this challenge, we get a year.

The first piece was 470 stitches and so I traveled from London to Paris.

Itching fingers...

Ik kon het gewoon niet laten en ben toch maar met een nieuwe Haed begonnen. Het verbaast mij wel dat er zoveel bruin en zwart in de eerste pagina zit maar de mockup ziet er ook anders uit dan het originele artwork. Hopelijk komt het goed.

I just couldn't wait and started with a new Haed. It does surprise me that there is so many black and brown in the first page but the mockup looks different as the original artwork. I hope it will come out right.

Ik heb ook de moeilijke beslissing genomen om mijn opleiding even uit te stellen tot september. Ik ben constant moe en ziek er er is uitgekomen dat ik klierkoorts zou gehad hebben. Jammer genoeg dachten ze een tijd geleden dat het gewoon een keelontsteking was en dat de moeheid kwam van de combinatie werken, school en stage.

I also made the hard decision to postpone my education till September. I'm constantly sick and tired and they found out I had glandular fever. Sadly they tought it was a throat infection and that the tiredness came from the combination work, school and internship.

The first post...

Het eerste blogje van het nieuwe jaar. en ik wil iedereen een gezond en gelukkig nieuwjaar wensen. Natuurlijk ook met veel tijd om te knutselen, borduren en andere dingen maar dat kies je zelf maar ;-)

The first blog of the new year and I want to wish everyone a healthy and happy new year. Offcourse with a lot of time to craft, stitch or other things you wish for ;-).

Met de feestdagen heb ik gewerkt maar ik heb ook gezorgd voor een beetje borduurtijd. Het ging redelijk snel omdat er niet zoveel kleuren zijn en het af en aanhechten dus beperkt bleef. Ik heb dus een heel aantal steekjes kunnen zetten.

With the Holidays I worked but I also made sure I had some time to stitch. It went really fast because there aren't much colours left and the thread changing was limited. I was able to put quite some stitches in.

Al was het soms niet eenvoudig om mijn borduurplekje te claimen...

But it wasn't always easy to claim my stitching spot...

Zeg nu zelf, hoe kan je hem nu weg jagen?

En ja, het stash dieet is mislukt... of niet? Oordeel zelf maar...

Van mijn schoonmoeder kreeg ik geld om iets leuks te kopen op Kerstmis maar vriendlief kent mij al redelijk goed dus ik kreeg orders om er nu al iets leuks van te kopen voor ik het aan de boodschappen spendeer. Dus we zijn samen gaan kijken, hij wil graag Times Up van Lisa Parker geborduurd zien. Het patroon had ik al en we zijn in mijn stock van garen gaan zoeken naar wat ik al had. Er moesten nog 73 strengen gekocht worden en deze zijn op oudjaar binnen gekomen. 

Ik ga hem wel nog niet meteen starten, ik heb Witching nog niet af en ik heb nog een aantal andere werken klaar staan.

My mother in law gave me some money for Christmas to buy myself something nice but the fiancee allready knows me very well so he said I had to buy something nice now before I spend it on groceries. So we checked together, he wants to have Times Up from Lisa Parker stitched. The pattern I allready had and we went looking in my stash what I allready had. 73 skeins needed to be bought and these arrived on New Years Eve.

I'm not going to stitch it yet, I don't have Witching finished yet and I still have some other project ready to stitch.
