Dankjewel allemaal om te helpen zoeken naar de stof. Het bestelde pakketje is aangekomen, en toen ik eindelijk vond hoe ik ze kon bestellen, heb ik maar meteen het volledige materialen pakket besteld, anders mocht ik nog eens gaan zoeken naar de Kreinik en Mill Hill Beads.

Thank you all for helping me look for the Polstitches fabric. The package I ordered has arrived, and when I finally found out how to order them, I immendiantly ordered the full package, including Kreinik and Mill Hill Beads. Who knows where I had to search for those otherwise?

Homemade cards...

Voor de mailart begon had ik nog geen kaartjes gemaakt, ik had geen kaartenspullen, geen karton,... In de mailart wou ik een zelfgemaakt kaartje, geen gekocht. Zeg nou zelf zelf, niets is zo leuk als een zelfgemaakt kaartje. Dus kocht ik een stempel, wat inkt, karton en wat stickers.

Het eerste kaartje is een kerstkaartje, het ziet er niet zo goed uit, maar ik ben een paar keer herbegonnen om het in elkaar te zetten. Het is geborduurd op restjes glitter stof en in de krans heb ik een charm ingenaaid.

Het tweede kaartje heb ik gemaakt voor een verjaardag. Ik wist pas te laat dat ze zou verjaren en had geen tijd meer om nog iets te borduren. Dus heb ik een pakketje uit elkaar gehaald, met karton een envelopje gemaakt en er het garen en de stof in gestopt. Uit vilt heb ik een bloempje geknipt en er op gekleefd. Aan de achterkant heb ik twee bandjes met karton gemaakt om het patroon er achter vast te houden.



Ik vind het wel leuk, maar denk niet dat ik veel spullen ga kopen om kaartjes te maken. Al dat 3D en embossing en zo ziet er wel leuk uit, maar is ongeloofelijk duur. En al die stempels, vaak gebruik je ze maar 1 of 2 keer en dan liggen ze daar maar. Je kan moeilijk altijd hetzelfde kaartje sturen...

Before I made the mailart, I hadn't made any cards yet. I didn't had the fancy stuff, cardboard,... In my mailart I wanted to add a selfmade card, cause nothing looks better then a selfmade card. Well, not looking better in my part, but at least it nicer to get a selfmade card.So I bought a stamp, some ink, some cardboard and stickers.


The first card is the card I included in the mailart. I stitched some christmass things on glittering fabric, cutted out the holes in the card and put them behind the holes. Then I added a charm looking like a ribbon and placed some ink with a sticker over it.

The second is a birthday card. I didn't knew in time that her birthday was coming, so I didn't had time left to stitch something. So I took a little cross stitch packet and made a pocket with some cardboard. In the pocket I placed the threads and the fabric and at the back I made two strings with paper to hold the pattern. I also cutted out a flower and placed that on it. last but not least, I added the stamp inking, and ready.

I like it, but I don't think I will be buying lots of cardmaking stuff. All the 3D and embossing things and so look nice, but hell, they are expensive. And those stamps, you buy them but really all you use them is 1 or 2 times. You can't make the same carddesign over and over I think...

Mailart

Op de borduursite heb ik meegedaan met een kerstmailart, het was de eerste keer dat ik meedeed aan een SWAP of een mailart gemaakt heb. Mijn mailart is aangekomen bij de ontvanger, dus kan ik hem met veel trots hier zetten. Het patroontje op de voorkant is een Tatty Teddy van Anchor, geborduurd met DMC-garen op 14-count aida glitterstof. Aan het mutsje heb ik een echt belletje gehangen en in z'n handje houdt hij een "made with love" hangertje. De achterkant is een patroontje uit een tijdschrift dat ik wat aangepast heb. Het stofje in de binnenkant is een blauw stofje met kerstballetjes en glittertjes. Het kaartje is geborduurd op restjes van de glitterstof en bevat een kerstboompje, een kransje en een strik. De biscornu is de tweede biscornu die ik ooit gemaakt heb en is gemaakt op evenweave met colorvariation garen. Hij is ook gevuld met lekker geurende lavendel. Voor de rest zit er een klein cadeautje in en wat snoepjes.



De mailart die ik nog moet ontvangen is er jammer genoeg nog niet, hopelijk is hij niet verloren met de post.


On the borduursite I entered myself for a Christmass Mailart, it was the first time I entered a SWAP or made a mailart. My mailart is delivered so with some pride I can put the results here. The pattern in front is a Tatty Teddy for Anchor, but stitched with DMC on 14-count aida glittering fabric. On his has he has a real bell and in his hand he holds a "made with love" charm. At the back there is a snowman from a magazine I adjusted a bit. The fabric inside is a bit blue with Christmass balls on it. It's also with glitters. The little card is stitched on leftovers from the mailart fabric. The biscornu is made with colorvariation thred and is filled with lavender, which also smells great. There is also a little cross stitch packet in it as a gift and some candy.

I still haven't received the mailart I needed to get, hopefully he isn't lost in the mail.

I need your help ~ Fabric

I need a little help to make a cross stitch piece. As some of you know, in 2009 four faeries have appeared in "Cross Stitch Collection", a UK-Magazine. From those four, I'd like to make three. The summer, auttumn and winter faerie. Now the problem is, they require special fabrics. They are handdyed from Polstitches. I have no credit-card or Paypal, and that is the only payment they accept. I've searched and I found other suppliers of their fabrics, but they also require Visa. I found one supplier in the Netherlands, but she isn't replying my emails and they are send out for almost a month now. I haven't found anywhere else to buy them. I do have normal bankaccount with a debet card. Is there anyone who knows where I can find these fabrics?

Last TUSAL of 2009

Het is de laatste keer dat ik m'n potje hier op zet voor dit jaar, maar niet getreurd,
Yoyo start een nieuwe TUSAL in 2010. Je mag je potje van dit jaar ook meenemen naar volgend jaar, dus ik mag verder opvullen. ;-) Hij is niet zo vol, maar er is dus nog een jaartje. Hier vind je m'n potje in de kerstboom en terwijl ik er een foto van nam had ik de hele tijd schrik dat ie op de grond zou vallen. Gelukkig voor mij is hij heel gebleven. Ik ben nu alle TUSAL's van dit jaar aan het bekijken en er zitten er leuke bij, hoor.

It's the last time for this year I put my little jar on my blog, but no sadness, cause Yoyo is starting a new TUSAL in 2010. You can still use the TUSAL you are making this year, so I can still add some orts to it. ;-) Here you find my jar in the Christmass tree and while I was taking a picture I was so scared it would drop on the floor. Luckely for me, it didn't fell. Now I'm watching all TUSAL's of this year and there are some nice ones with it.

With Needle and Thread ~ Blackbird Designs

In het patchwork winkeltje waar ik even geleden over sprak hebben ze quiltstoffen en patronen van Blackbird Designs. Jammer genoeg hebben ze geen borduurspullen maar ik kon m'n geluk niet op toen ze zeiden dat ze hun borduurboeken en patronen wel konden bestellen voor.



Ik heb With Needle and Thread bij hen besteld en vandaag mocht ik hem gaan ophalen. Er staan prachtige patronen in. De meeste zijn met speciale handgeverfde garens, maar je kan ze net zo goed met DMC maken. (Al vertellen ze er wel bij, dat je met DMC-garen niet hetzelfde effect zal bekomen als bijvoorbeeld met de Waterlilies)



In the patchwork shop I talked about a bit ago they have quiltfabrics and patterns from Blackbird Designs. Sadly enough they don't have any embroidery or crossstitch stuff but I couldn't get more happier then when they told me they could order the cross stitch books from Blackbird Designs for me. Most of them are made with special, handpainted threads, but you can make them with DMC-threads aswell. (But they also tell you that with DMC-threads you don't get the same effect as for example with the Waterlilies)



I ordered "With Needle and Thread" with them and today I was allowed to pick it up. There are some wonderfull patterns in it.

Improved stitching cabinet

Herinner je je m'n oude borduurkastje nog? Dat kleine boekenrekje? Nou, manlief vond het te klein worden en m'n spullen lagen weer overal in huis, dat hij vond dat er een nieuwe kast moest komen. De keuze is gevallen op een blauwe Hemnes kast van Ikea. Gisteren zijn we de kast gaan ophalen en vandaag is ze opgevuld.

Do you remember my old stitching cabinet? The small bookshelve? Well, it was getting a bit too small and my sweetheart found it annoying to find my stitching stuff everywhere so he decided I needed to buy another cabinet. I've chosen a blue Hemnes from Ikea. yesterday we went to buy the closet and today I've placed all my things in it.

Ook de houten magazine houders komen van Ikea en bevatten al m'n borduurmagazines. Netjes gesorteerd. De witte mandjes, ja, kan je raden van waar die komen... bewaar ik stofjes om af te werken (en de stofjes die heb ik um, geleend, van mama, hihi) en gekregen kaartjes in. Een aantal kaartjes, vaak de meest recente, stal ik uit op de kast.

De biscornu's op de kast heb ik natuurlijk zelf gemaakt.

And more stuff from Ikea, the wooden magazine holders are having all my stitching magazines. The white baskets contain my beautifull fabrics (mostly "borrowed" from mom) to finish up some of my works. The other one contains received cards. A few cards are showed on the cabinet, I think they are the most recent.

Offcourse, the biscornu's lying on top are selfmade.

Elke lade heeft stoffen opbergers, ja, weer van de Ikea waar vanalles in zit. Zo heeft bijvoorbeeld elk werk waar ik aan bezig ben een eigen opberger met daar alles in voor dat werk. Zo kan ik makkelijk wisselen als ik eens iets anders wil. De grotere bevatten dan m'n borduurstoffen en extra garen.

Each drawer has containers made out of strong fabric, yes, again from Ikea, where I place all kinds of different things in. For example, every W.I.P has it's own basket, containing the fabric, pattern and threads of that project. Easy to swap. The bigger ones contain my aida's and linens.

Een andere lade bevat dan weer patronen en pakketten die ik nog moet starten.

Another drawer contains patterns and packets I still need to start.

En de mand naast de kast die bewaart m'n dikkere boeken.

And the basket next to the cabinet contains the thicker books.

Er is maar 1 probleem...

Binnenkort is ze weer te klein!
